Innsmouth Whaler Pendant
"According to Innsmouth Lore, when the town pledged itself to the Deep Ones, the gold was provided by Father Dagon and the fish were sent by Mother Hydra. The gold was infamously utilized by the Marsh family while the fish were processed by the Waite family.
Among those involved with the fishing duties, there arose a tightly-knit guild of whalers who swore an oath to Mother Hydra as their patron. Due to their "aquatic nature" these whalers were unusually skilled at their profession and would have been hailed as the greatest in New England had they not been so shunned by their neighbors.
After many decades, the guild evolved into the "Sect of Mother Hydra", which involved secret initiation ceremonies and the use of harpoons tipped with "Innsmouth Gold". Members also wore a large whale bone pectoral pendant carved into the image of Mother Hydra which became a revered status symbol in the town of Innsmouth.
The last of the "Innsmouth Whalers" were said to have disappeared in the early 20th century, however whales in the vicinity of Devil's Reef have been sighted with strange gold harpoon tips protruding from their backs on rare occasions."
Cast in solid white resin with a brown acrylic rub to imitate the look of vintage scrimshaw carving. Measures 5.75" long and comes ready to wear or display with suede cord.
